I am using this publication to post (about weekly) my observations, thoughts or just interesting stuff I found on the boundary between life, business and technology; what I see as novel developments and what could be worth to discuss.
If you would like to be kept informed click on the RSS or email notification buttons on the bottom right on this page. You can also click the Follow button to receive my tweets on Twitter. I welcome comments and discussions.
About me:
Following studies in Chemistry and Biology I received a PhD in Biophysics from Freiburg/Br. University. After 10 years in academic research (Max-Planck-Institute, Harvard Univ., Univ. Konstanz) I spent another 10 years in the chemical/pharmaceutical industry in Basle/Switzerland managing SW application development.
In 1995 I moved on to Sun Microsystems where I took on different Chief Technology Officer roles from Swiss Country Technology Manager to CTO Global Government Strategy (more on my professional experience).
I was elected as member to the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences and to the European Academy of Sciences and Arts. 2000–2007 I served as Executive Juror for the EU IST Award and since 2008 I am serving as jury member of the Swiss ICT Award. I am serving as chairman for a telemedicine company and member of several advisory boards.
I am serving as Associate Partner at Innovia Ventures, as Executive Advisor at Experton Group, as Authorized Partner at ABOS-CONWORKS, as Consulting Expert and Council Member with Gehrson Lehrman Group and Guidepoint Global and am member of the Virtual Think Tank TechCast Expert Panel. A complete list of my memberships is found here.
Since 2008 I am offering services with my company (Dr. Hellmuth Broda Consulting) focusing on consultancy in strategic ICT issues.
